For us, there must be a good balance between using nature and protecting it, so that citizens and visitors both can have the pleasure of using the magnificent nature in Himmerland in the future as well. Based on this, we encourage all visitors to respect and protect nature and wildlife.
In Himmerland, there are several protected areas which include nature reserves and Natura 2000-areas. Natura 2000 is a national symbol of a network of protected areas in the EU. The protected areas are made to preserve and protect the different types of nature, animals, and plants, which are rare, threatened, or characteristic for the countries in the EU.
You can read more about Natura 2000 and find the protected areas in Himmerland, here.
