Vognsild Church

Vognsild Church, with its ancient Easter paintings and scenic surroundings, is worth a visit in Aars.

The altarpiece in Vognsild Church dates back to the 17th century, but in 1976, Paul Høm created the beautiful new Easter pictures for the altarpiece, and he painted the four Evangelist symbols in the panels of the pulpit.

The former altarpiece, painted by L. Toft in 1915, hangs in the tower room and depicts the crucifixion. Above the south door, there is a tympanum with opposing lion figures, and on the north side of the tower, there is a quoin with a chessboard.

The church is usually open during the daytime from Monday to Thursday and on Fridays until 12:00 PM.
